Lazy Vizsla

Is there such a thing as a lazy Vizsla?  Normally when someone thinks Vizsla, your thoughts are high-energy, crazy, hyper.  Well lately Ralphie doesn't seem to be the typical Vizsla.
Ralphie has been very laid back.  I guess you can say sort of lazy.  Oh, today he did swim a little in the pool, chased a few lizards, went on a short walk and that's about it.  He's not interested in chewing his bone.  He just ended up sprawled on the sofa, sleeping after his minimal exercise.   He doesn't have much interest in the dog park as before.  Yesterday he played pretty much by himself at the park...wasn't interested in the other dogs.  He seemed happy and content just fetching the ball and playing frisbee with me and then he got hot and tired.  Can Ralphie be bored with the dog park?  I thought all dogs love running around with other dogs.
Is he getting to the age that he's slowing down?  He's soon to be two years old.
Can it be the weather?  Summers are very hot here.  Maybe the heat is draining him?  But then again I thought Vizslas are made to withstand hot weather...LOL
Can Ralphie be too domesticated...LOL...having the life in air conditioning with a nice clean fluffy bed,  able to stretch out on the sofa anytime, has treats of all kinds, toys of all kinds, has a cool pool to take a dip anytime.
Gosh, is this all normal?  LOL

Let's Try This Again ... Running Vizsla

How can I be such a slacker and full of excuses?! That's right I haven't been running.  It's amazing how an injury can side-track a person.  After the 8-month plantar faciitis episode, it's the rotator cuff issue, which I blame my running partner on...Ralphie.   Just recently I went in for my second cortisone shot.  I still have a shoulder problem.  But again, excuses, excuses.

Today my running partner, Ralphie got me up and running.  I decided to skip the dog park after work and go on a run with Ralphie...well it was more of a walk/run.  I'm quite out of the running groove.  Haven't been running, but still walking.  Today we ran 2 1/2 miles at a very slow pace averaging 12 minute mile.  Yes, I know it's slow but I have more excuses for that ... sniffing delays, potty delays, squirrel chasing, lizard pulling.  But overall, Ralphie is a good running partner, truly the slower pace is mostly my fault, which is ... out of shape!  Hahaha

But I can say one thing ... at least we took the first step AGAIN and got out there and ran!  And yes, it DID feel good!!

Mother's Day Fun

What a fantastic Mother's Day!  It was a fun-filled day at my daughter, Erica and Dave's house.  Of course Ralphie joined in on the fun.  He just loves visiting his pug cousins, Bubba & Diva...especially Bubba.  Diva is getting up there in years, so she pretty much watches the two crazies running and playing all day.  As I'm writing this, Ralphie is out cold, dead tired on the sofa.  His day was non-stop.  After dinner we did some target shooting...I should say I'm not too bad...lol.  Ralphie, my hunter, did not care for the gun noise, so he was more than ready to hop in the car and leave.
Here are some pics of an unforgettable Mother's Day with everyone I LOVE.

My Love!

Erica's Love!

Bubba the Fish.

Playing all day long.

And more playing.

Erica &Ralphie...he's such a baby.

My Baby!
I'm not a bad aim for an amateur. LOL

Such a handsome boy.

Snagged Bubba's bone.

Vizsla Ralphie Meets Frog

This rainy morning I hear all this commotion going on outside ... of course, it's Ralphie!!
This first video Ralphie meets a little friend...gosh, he was quite terrified.  Ralphie didn't know what to think...watch...

This second video Ralphie becomes more daring. Hahaha...but still a bit scared.  I can't believe this frog barely moved.  It must their way of protecting themselves from their predators.  I moved the frog to a safe place and he jumped his way into happiness...away from Ralphie!!  Hahaha
Ralphie is just too stinkin' cute!!
